Home Student Resources DSPS Student-Athlete Reduced Course Load (3C2A) Request

Student-athletes are generally required to maintain a minimum number of units to remain eligible to compete.

In some circumstances, a student with a disability may be eligible for a disability-related reduced course load recommendation through DSPS.

In these cases, you may need a 3C2A reduced course load form to participate in your sport.

What happens after I submit my request?

DSPS will review your request and contact you regarding next steps.

If you are already registered with DSPS

A DSPS counselor may need to review your current accommodations and meet with you to determine whether a disability-related reduced course load is appropriate.

If you are not currently registered with DSPS

We will contact you with information about applying to DSPS and providing disability documentation. You may need to complete the DSPS application process before a determination can be made.

Submitting this request does not automatically approve a reduced course load accommodation or the 3C2A form. DSPS must complete an individualized review to determine whether a disability-related reduced course load recommendation is appropriate or already on your accommodations.
