Counseling and Transfer

SCC Counseling provides students with academic, career, personal, and crisis counseling necessary to successfully reach their goals. Counselors are available to help you develop an educational plan of courses needed to reach a goal of an Associate's degree, transfer to a four-year institution, or completion of a certificate; even if you’re unsure of your educational goal.

Counseling services are also offered at the Davis Center and West Sacramento Center.

Student Area Outcomes

1. Increase the awareness of transfer requirements and resources, increasing confidence in transfer capabilities.
2. Increase the support, retention, and persistence of students who identify as Black/African American by continuing to provide counseling appointments and a safe space.
3. Students will have increased access to counseling appointments and increased show rates.

We understand that life while attending school has its challenges that can be stressful. SCC counselors provide confidential, short-term counseling with personal, family, or work concerns as they relate to educational goals.
