The Request for Accommodation Letters gives permission to the DSPS office to send your accommodation letters to your professors. Please submit a Request for Accommodation Letters each semester, or if you make changes to classes or accommodations.

These exams/quizzes must be scheduled 3 working days in advance, or 5 working days if you require a scribe/reader/computer/CCTV.

Why do I need to submit a Request for Accommodation Letters?
Submitting a Request for Accommodation Letters is how you receive your accommodations.
When do I need to submit a Request for Accommodation Letters?
- Every semester you are enrolled, turn in a Request for Accommodation Letters at least two weeks before your classes begin.
- It is a good practice to submit your Request for Accommodation Letters as soon as you are enrolled in classes and your schedule is set (i.e. during your priority registration). Please be aware that Accommodation Letters will be e-mailed to professors no earlier than one week before classes begin.
- If you are turning in your Request for Accommodation Letters after classes begin, allow DSPS staff at least five working days to process your request.
- If your accommodations include staff (note-takers, scribes, lab assistants, and sign language interpreters, real-time captioner [RTC]), equipment, or table/chair seating, submit this request at least one month before your classes begin.
- DSPS staff will e-mail Accommodation Letters to your professors and copy you on the e-mail.

A Request for Accommodation Letters is used to request specific accommodations, which have been approved on your Academic Accommodation Plan (AAP) to support you in your classes.
What do I need to do if my class schedule has changed (e.g. enrolled in a new class; enrolled from the waiting list)?
It is your responsibility to inform the DSPS staff of the changes you made to your class schedule. You must follow up with the DSPS staff about your Request for Accommodation Letters status including new courses added or status on waiting lists.

What do I need to do if my accommodations have changed?
It is your responsibility to inform the DSPS staff of any accommodation changes that have been made by your Counselor or Learning Disabilities Specialist, after having submitted your Request for Accommodation Letters.
