Placement
English and Math Placement
Students who graduated from a US high school and included all of the requested high school information on their CCCApply application will be automatically placed in English and math courses upon admission to Sacramento City College.

Placement for Dual Enrollment Students
As part of the Dual Enrollment (Special Admit) approval process, you may submit your current unofficial high school transcript with your Special Admit Form if you plan to enroll in a math class, English class, or a class which has an English or math prerequisite for placement at the time of admission.
If you did not receive a placement, or if you completed additional high school coursework in English or math after receiving a placement, you may submit a Placement Re-Evaluation Request Form to have new placements determined.
Updating or Receiving English and Math Placements
Provide High School Information
If you graduated from a US high school, but you did not report your high school information on your application, or your high school information was not correct on your application, you can submit a Placement Re-Evaluation Request Form to receive or update your English and math course placements.
Use Guided Self-Placement
If you have foreign high school transcripts or left high school without graduating, then you are eligible to utilize the Guided Self-Placement process to determine which English and math courses to take. Complete the questions on our Placement Process page to get started.
After completing Guided Self-Placement, your placements will be updated in our enrollment system (eServices) the following day.
Use College Coursework or Credit for Prior Learning To Satisfy Prerequisites
Aside from placements, you may also be able to satisfy English, Math, or ESL prerequisites using outside coursework or certain test results, such as Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), or College-Level Examination Program (CLEP). Please see Prerequisite Verification and Challenge for more information.
