Catholic Student Association

The Catholic Student Association (CSA) at Sacramento City College exists as a campus ministry devoted to bringing life, energy, and hope to the college community. We seek to bridge faith and study, cultivating students who lead through service and live out the Gospel in their academic and social lives.

CSA cultivates student leaders rooted in Catholic Social Teaching, the Theological and Cardinal Virtues, the Gifts and Fruits of the Holy Spirit, the Works of Mercy, and the Beatitudes. We equip them to lead in student government, campus initiatives, and peer support. Our mission is to build academic support networks and streamline resources so every student can thrive intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually.

By sharing the treasures of the Catholic Church—its sacraments, teachings, and traditions—we become not only a ministry that teaches faith, but a community that lives it. We believe in forming “Students Who Serve”: individuals whose leadership is rooted in prayer, contemplation, and charity.

CSA promotes a culture of prayer as a response to the mental and emotional challenges students face. We hold that the fruit of faith is devotion, the fruit of devotion is hope, and the fruit of hope is charity—a love that transforms campus life one day at a time.
