Math/Stats Tutoring Lab

Home Student Resources Math-Stats Tutoring Lab

The Math/Stats Tutoring Lab is here to support and guide you when you need a boost in your math or stats class.

Our tutors and classified professionals are professionally-trained and focus on relationship-building and aligning content with your course. We have additional high-quality materials including formula sheets for you.

We prioritize high-impact tutoring, shown to be highly effective. Success rates for math are 20 times higher if you commit to:

  • coming into the lab in the first two weeks to set up your schedule
  • attend frequent sessions, 2-3 times per week, with a dedicated tutor
  • attend roup sessions with other students in your class or in other sections of the same math class

How to Enroll

The Math Lab will give groups coming into the lab in the first two weeks to set up their schedules and enroll in the Math/Stats Lab a free welcome gift, so talk to your classmates after your first or second class of the semester and arrange to come by.

You can also enroll via eServices by adding this free, zero-credit course to your schedule:

  • HSER 1000 Supervised Tutoring (Math Lab)
  • Course code 16793

About Our Space

We are located in Learning Resource Center, LRC- 144. Go through the entrance to the LRC and we are through the glass doors just past and to the right of the welcome desk.

Halsey is the Coordinator, in LRC-150, and is a specialist in Stats C1000 (formerly Stats 300).

Our Services

Beyond accessing tutoring online or in-person to help you, we also have a safe space for you to:

  • sit and study alone or with friends
  • ask questions on navigating campus that we will either know or find somebody who does
  • have basic needs met - we partner with Panther Cares to distribute food to students when available
  • use the lab’s computers for assignments (we also support students that need to do TeachMe videos)
  • meet with the lab’s coordinator, Halsey, for a tour of campus areas that will help you find community and be successful in your academic journey, and at the same time create a path to success in math for the semester

We are inclusive of all students, and maintain an intersectional perspective.
