The Student Senate is dedicated to making the college experience better for everyone and making sure the voices of the students are heard.
The Student Senate nominates students to participate on College and/or District groups, task forces, or other governance groups. Further, the Student Senate provides input into the formation of college and district policies and procedures that have significant effect on students.
The process of appointment to Student Senate
- Complete the Candidacy Verification Form and Public Information Form. The Supervisor uses this information to verify candidate eligibility. Once appointed, your contact information will be included on the SAC roster. Any information provided on the Candidate Information Sheet may be shared with the public.
- Meet with the Student Leadership & Development Supervisor for an orientation.
- Attend one (1) Meeting of the Senators and one (1) board meeting of the Student Senate. At the meeting, you may be appointed to the board by a vote of the Student Senate. You may be asked to speak about yourself and why you wish to join the Student Senate, your familiarity with the Student Associated Council Constitution and the Student Senate Bylaws, and your understanding of the position you are seeking.
