Submit Transcripts and Test Scores
Official Transcripts and Test Scores
Sacramento City College does not require official transcripts from institutions outside of the Los Rios Community College District as a condition of admission to the college or to award a degree or certificate that has been earned without inclusion of credit from external institutions.
Official transcripts are required to apply credit earned outside of the Los Rios Community College District (transfer credit) towards a degree or certificate at Sacramento City College.
Official transcripts may be required in other circumstances, such as to receive veteran's educational benefits, to participate in intercollegiate athletics, or to receive certain financial aid awards for those who have applied.
Students who have completed examinations for college credit such as Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), or College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) must submit official scores to Sacramento City College to apply applicable credit to their program of study. For more information about how these scores may be applied, see Credit for Prior Learning and Alternative Study Options.
All records submitted become the property of the college and will not be returned to the applicant.
Official transcripts can be mailed directly from the college or university. If students submit official transcripts, the official transcripts must remain in their original, unopened envelopes. Mail official transcripts and test scores to:

Transfer Credit Acceptance
We accept coursework from colleges and universities that are accredited by the following regional bodies:
- Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges, Western Association of Schools and Colleges (ACCJC)
- Higher Learning Commission (HLC)
- Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU)
- Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)
- Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE)
- New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE)
- WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC)
We do not accept coursework that is remedial or post-baccalaureate in nature. Transfer credit may not be reflected on your records, but it is kept on file for use in completion of degrees or certificates.
Foreign Transcript Evaluation
Students who want to use coursework from a foreign college or university need to have their transcript(s) evaluated. We do not give credit for coursework that is from high school, remedial, or post-baccalaureate in nature.
We accept transcript evaluations from companies that are current members of National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. (AICE). When you get your transcript evaluated, make sure you ask for:
- A course by course evaluation
- A breakdown of coursework into general education academic areas
- Whether unit values are in semester or quarter units
- What coursework is lower division, upper division, or graduate level
After it is received by Sacramento City College, the evaluation becomes property of Sacramento City College and is treated in the same manner as an official transcript. Official copies will not be returned to the student.
