Honors Classes

The SCC Honors Program involves 15 units of Honors-approved classes.

This could be:

  • five (5) SCC Honors courses (courses that are listed with "Honors" in the course name, see the course list on Canvas)'
  • or four SCC Honors courses and one 400-level SCC STEM class (MATH/BIO/CHEM/PHYS) with contract and research project, 
  • or three SCC Honors courses and two 300-level select SCC non-Honors classes with contract and research project, 
  • or three SCC Honors courses and one 300-level select SCC non-Honors class with research project and one Honors class from another Los Rios campus, 
  • or three SCC Honors courses and two Honors classes from another Los Rios campus

You must complete at least three (3)SCC Honors courses.

Course Requirements Prior to Fall 2025

If you began the SCC Honors Program prior to 2025, you may have seen different course requirements information. Please contact the Honors Program coordinator regarding the application of older requirements.

If you are starting the Honors Program in Fall 2025 or after, you must follow the above-mentioned approved courses requirements and restrictions.
