I am a Nutrition and Dietetics and Chemistry Major at Sacramento City College on the Sacramento State transfer path. My goal is to become a Registered Dietitian and explore research on anti-inflammatory foods in healing diets to help patients manage symptoms with chronic and inflammatory skin diseases. My name is Leticia, I am Hearing, and I am excited to be one of your tutors this semester! I am an American Sign Language and Deaf Studies major at Sac State, but my ASL learning career started at SCC/ARC. I completed ASL 1-5 with Los Rios, and I continue to learn more about and interact with the Deaf community at CSUS! Learning about and understanding other cultures is so important! I first wanted to start learning ASL as a way to make sure I would be able to communicate effectively with my future patients, as well as make sure that they felt heard and listened to. ASL is a beautiful and fun language to learn, and I hope you all love it as much as I do :)
