Student Testimonial

"As a student at Sacramento City College who often utilizes campus resources, Panther CARES has helped in many ways. The most important resource is having access to a food pantry on campus. It helps mitigate a small amount of tension from me as having access to groceries requires a lot of time, transportation, money, and etc.

"Ever since I have started using the Panther CARES pantry for the weekly 10 items and the monthly food distributions, I've had to spend considerably less on fresh produce which made up a huge bulk of my cost. Panther CARES food resources has supplemented a lot of my family's weekly meals. And I am so thankful or it."

Student Testimonial

"I received the Emergency Grant during the Fall 2024 semester, due to losing my father this year. This grant has helped me meet my day-to-day financial needs during this time. I have been able to stay in school through Panther Cares' support and have had more peace of mind when it comes to my finances. "

Student Area Outcomes (SAO)

CityHub includes the College Basic Needs Center. We connect students with resources that address students' basic needs, both on-campus and in the community, so they can remain focused on their education.

  • Increase the awareness to students of CityHub/Basic Needs services and how to access on-campus and community resources, to maximize student success in achieving educational goals and to thrive, not just survive.
  • Increase and promote awareness of resources to all students, faculty, and staff.
  • Increase and build linkages and collaboration with partner agencies in the community that can help students meet their basic needs.
