Named Scholarships

You change lives when you support SCC scholarships!

Many donors are interested in establishing a named scholarship that allows them to have some input into the criteria for eligibility. Named scholarships begin at $500 per year (minimum three-year commitment) for expendable scholarships, and a scholarship endowment may be established for a minimum of $10,000.

Offering scholarships is among the most important ways that donors can make a difference in SCC students’ lives. Scholarships can be awarded on the basis of merit, financial need, to students in a specific major or career education program, those who are about to transfer to a four-year university, those with special circumstances (foster youth, head of household, veterans, etc.) and/or to those students who work or participate in leadership activities outside the classroom.

Whatever ways scholarships are directed, donors directly contribute to our students’ future success when they give the gift of scholarship support.

Each year, we award hundreds of scholarships to deserving students. But for every student who receives an award, there are still many we are unable to fund, and so many more who will benefit from the additional financial security a scholarship can give them. We hope you will consider making a gift to SCC scholarships today.

Donors at any level may also contribute to our pooled scholarship fund by making a gift to the Panther Scholars Scholarship.
