Your philanthropic gifts make a lasting impact at Sacramento City College. With your help, we can provide financial support and unique learning opportunities to our students.
Giving to the SCC Office of Philanthropy is about you – connecting what is important to you – to the college. Whether your philanthropic interest is funding student scholarships or college programs, providing resources for basic needs such as food insecurity, helping our veterans achieve their educational goals or transition to civilian life, supporting our student-athletes, or advocating for arts education, there are ways to achieve your philanthropic goals at SCC.
How We Help Our Students
The SCC Fund (Annual Fund) is an unrestricted pooled fund used for areas of greatest need and to respond to new opportunities to create innovative educational experiences for SCC students. We also use these funds for our Mini Grant program, which gives faculty and staff the opportunity to propose projects that will improve campus life, enhance student services, and promote teaching innovation.
The Panther Cares fund gives immediate financial help to students experiencing an emergency, so they can continue their progress towards a certificate or degree. This fund is also the resource for the student food pantry and other basic needs.
Scholarships provide vital financial assistance to our students, allowing them to focus on school and take more classes while working fewer hours. You may give to an existing general scholarship fund, such as the SCC Philanthropy Scholarship endowment, or you may memorialize a loved one, honor a teacher, or help a student in your field of interest with a named current-use scholarship with a minimum gift of $500 (minimum two-year commitment).
An endowed scholarship that will support SCC students in perpetuity may be established with a minimum gift of $10,000.

The Los Rios Promise guarantees that the first two years at a Los Rios college will be tuition fee-free for full-time students who successfully complete the requirements of the program.
The goal is to encourage students to attend college full-time, so that they can successfully complete their degree programs in a shorter timeframe and enter the workforce ready to succeed.
