Books & Articles for Your Research

Books, DVDs, and other library materials can be delivered to West Sacramento from any Los Rios library. When you find the item you want in the OneSearch, click the Request button. You will be prompted to fill out a form; under “Pickup Location,” choose “SCC West Sac Center.” The items will arrive in 2-4 days and can be checked out from the LRC (3rd floor) at the West Sacramento Center. Materials can be returned at the West Sacramento LRC or at any Los Rios library.

Academic journals, popular magazines, newspapers, ebooks, and more are available at all times via the Research Databases. Current students at the West Sacramento Center have the same access to this material as main campus students. When accessing the databases, you will be prompted to enter your username and password, the same credentials you use to access eServices, D2L, and Los Rios Gmail.

Get Research Help

The Library offers one-on-one help to West Sac students in a variety of ways:

  • The Library offers help via instant message and email through its Ask a Librarian service.
  • If you visit the main campus, you can always go to the second floor of the Learning Resource Center and get help from a librarian at the Research Help desk.

Use Public Libraries

The Arthur C. Turner Community Library branch of the Yolo County Library is located just across the parking lot from the West Sac Center. Get a Yolo County Library Card and make use of the Turner Library’s book, periodical, and video collection, study space, research databases, and computers. Bring valid California photo ID and proof of current residence (such as a utility bill) to any branch library to get your card. You can also get a library card at the Sacramento Public Library and use its resources to supplement what SCC provides.
