Native American Student Success
Supporting your higher education journey.
We are on Native land.
We acknowledge the land currently occupied by Sacramento City College as the traditional home of the Miwok, Maidu, and Nisenan people, as well as the Patwin people occupied by our West Sacramento and Davis Center. Our college, including leaders from the Native American Collaborative affirm and celebrate our diverse Native American students.
Sacramento City College is committed to serving Native American students with dignity, respect, and intention. We intend to:
- Support academic, cultural, social, and transitional support for Native American students;
- Connect and refer students to both on and off campus resources to support their journey;
- Develop and promote culturally affirming programming in support of Indigenous American, Native American, American Indian, and/or Alaska Native students.
- Outreach to tribal communities and organizations;
- Serve as a resource that focuses on Indigenous and/or Native American Peoples, Tribal Nations, Rancherias, and Land.
