Dual Enrollment and Early College Programs

Home Student Resources Dual Enrollment and Early College Programs

The Office of Dual Enrollment and Early College Program, formerly known as the Hispanic Serving Institution-Early College Program (HSI-ECP), was officially institutionalized on October 1, 2026, following the conclusion of its federally-funded grant on September 30, 2026.

The office continues its mission of expanding access to higher education by providing high school students with opportunities to experience college through Dual Enrollment.

Dual Enrollment allows high school students to take college-level courses that count toward both high school and college credit.

Why Consider Dual Enrollment?

  • Earn college credit while you're still in high school
  • Save money on college tuition
  • Take less time to earn a college degree
  • Take advantage of college resources
  • Get a head start on your future career

Services

  • Dual Enrollment Course Offerings
  • Academic & Career Counseling
  • Bilingual College Success Workshops

  • Disability Services

General vs. DuE ECP Dual Enrollment

There are two types of dual enrollment:

  • Office of Dual Enrollment and Early College Programs (DuE-ECP) Dual Enrollment
  • General Dual Enrollment

DuE-ECP Dual Enrollment differs from General Dual Enrollment in a few important ways:

Course Materials

DuE-ECP Dual Enrollment course materials are provided by participating high schools.

Course Enrollment

DuE-ECP Dual Enrollment courses are closed classes that require program consent for enrollment.

Student Support

DuE-ECP Dual Enrollment provides students with additional academic support and the opportunity to earn both high school and college credit. Students should connect with their high school counselor to determine how these courses count toward their high school graduation requirements, as policies may vary by school district.

Update October 7, 2026

The soul of our project remains the same: to provide college access to underrepresented groups who may have never considered themselves college-going students.

Over the coming weeks, the HSI Early College Program will begin transitioning to the Office of Dual Enrollment and Early College Program. While our name and structure are evolving, the heart of our mission remains the same.

We will continue to support our dual enrollment students, expand access to college opportunities, and help students throughout their college journey.
