Asian and Pacific Islander (API) Center
The Asian and Pacific Islander Center is one of many cultural engagement and completion centers supporting student success at SCC.
The API Center focuses on guiding students who come from similar cultural backgrounds of Asian and Pacific Islander communities through their higher education journey.
The API Center offers culturally affirming events, workshops, and activities for students, staff, faculty, and administrators to build community and to raise awareness and understanding of Asian and Pacific Islander experiences.
Transfer Readiness and Academic Pathways
- Students will demonstrate increased awareness and understanding of transfer requirements and academic pathways, with the goal of eliminating gaps in transfer readiness and transfer rates.
Culturally Relevant Programming Participation
- The number of students participating in culturally relevant programming will increase annually, fostering greater engagement and connection to campus resources that promote access, support and success.
- Students will demonstrate an increased sense of social belonging and satisfaction with culturally relevant programming and services that reflect and affirm their diverse identities and experiences
Self-Efficacy and Academic Success
- Students will demonstrate increased self-efficacy and academic success through participation in culturally relevant counseling services that affirm their identities and promote academic and personal growth.
Mental, Emotional, and Social Well-Being
- Students will utilize culturally relevant resources and support services that contribute to improvements in their mental, emotional and social well-being.

Asian Cultural Engagement and Support (ACES) Club
Purpose: To promote higher education within the Asian and Pacific Islander (API) community and to increase the awareness of the Asian and Pacific Islander culture, while creating a positive social environment in the Club that will help students accomplish their educational goals within Sacramento City College.
Hmong Opportunity Program for Education (H.O.P.E. ) Club
MIssion: To foster a culture of higher education within the Hmong community, elevate awareness of the Hmong cultural heritage, and cultivate a positive social environment within the club that empowers students to achieve their educational aspirations.
K-Pop Club
A space to have fun discussions within the K-Pop industry, fawn over the groups/idols we stan, and learn K-Pop choreographies.
Pasifika Connections Club
Increasing academic success, recruitment, retention of Pacific Islander students and club members.
