These are the degrees with the most influence over our economy. Science, engineering and math graduates ultimately control how our environment expands and stabilizes. Studying how the most basic things work and interact, these students invent technology that affects the daily operations and capabilities of all other industries.
Programs of Study, Degrees, and Certificates
Astronomy
The study of celestial objects and phenomena in the cosmos. Courses include the nature and evolution of the Solar System, Stars, Galaxies, and Astrobiology. Courses only.
Biology
The scientific study of life, from molecules to cells, and organisms to ecosystems, including their evolution and interactions with the environment.
Chemistry
Offers a dynamic environment in which to learn chemistry that includes a strong emphasis on hands-on use of equipment and instrumentation.
Engineering
Our AS degree is designed to meet lower-division requirements for various majors in engineering.
Engineering Design Technology
Teaches courses in (1) building architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and piping design and drafting for residential and commercial buildings and (2) CAD programs such as AutoCAD, REVIT, and CREO (Pro/E) software.
Field Ecology
Our Certificate program provides the training and education necessary to succeed in government agencies, private businesses, and non-profits that provide field ecology services.
Geology
An interdisciplinary science that seeks to study and understand the physical processes of Earth and other planets, including plate tectonics, rocks, minerals, earthquakes, volcanoes, the fossil record, and Earth’s history and past climate, and natural geological resources.
Mathematics and Statistics
Provides students with the opportunity to complete the lower-division coursework required for four-year programs in mathematics.
Geography
The science of place and space, studying the relationships among geographic places, natural systems, society and cultural activities, and the interdependence of these from a spatial perspective.
Physics
Explores the natural relationships that help us understand and predict the motion, organization, and interaction of the most basic and measurable constituents of our physical existence.
