- anything else that is not an immediate current crisis or unexpected emergency
When Will I Receive Funds?
If your grant is approved, it will take at least 3 or more weeks to receive funds.
Requirements
Students must provide evidence of their unanticipated emergency to apply for emergency assistance. For example, if the emergency is related to a utility bill, they must submit a copy of the bill. However, the grant can only cover past-due bills by 45 days or less.
Similarly, if the emergency is related to a damaged device, like a laptop, they must provide a copy of a repair quote. The grant will not reimburse past expenses.
To be eligible, students must also:
- be enrolled in six or more units
- be in good academic standing with a GPA of 2.0 or higher
- have a student education plan on file that is less than 18 months old
- be making satisfactory academic progress
Students on Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) may be disqualified from receiving assistance.
This emergency grant helps students remain in school during unforeseen events; it cannot be used to supplement financial aid disbursements.
Emergency Grant Application
Before submitting your application for the Student Emergency Grant, carefully review and understand all of the qualifying requirements. Please be advised that applications submitted for personal recurring bills or circumstances that are not current or unexpected will unfortunately not be processed. Furthermore, we emphasize the importance of submitting genuine and accurate documentation, as any falsified documents or images will regrettably result in immediate disqualification.
