PAL (Peer Assisted Learning) Program
What is PAL?
- PAL (Peer Assisted Learning) employs peer students as PAL Leaders for specific classes. These students are recommended by the instructor and have successfully completed the class or a higher-level class with an “A” or “B” grade.
- PAL Leaders facilitate group learning activities with students from the class. Activities will focus on collaborations among groups of students in applying and learning concepts presented in each class, and could include handouts, practice problems, games, etc.
- PAL sessions are different from tutoring in that homework is not being covered or tutored. Students needing this type of assistance should seek a tutor in one of SCC’s tutoring centers.
