LGBTQ+ Student Success
Supporting your higher education journey.
Sac City has Pride!
Our campus, including supporters and leaders of Spectrum, strive to create an LGBTQ+ affirming campus community that supports our diverse student body, including those who self-identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, non-binary, asexual, agender, pansexual, intersex, and more.
Our goal is to:
- Center the needs of students with intersecting identities who face multiple barriers to success, including queer students of color, trans and non-binary students, undocuqueer scholars, LGBTQ+ foster and former foster youth, LGBTQ+ veterans, etc.
- Increase access, retention, persistence, and completion through improving student experiences for trans and non-binary students, including affirming names and pronouns, outreach, programming, leadership development, building community, mentorship opportunities, and skill-building
- Create and promote educational opportunities to improve engaged allyship
- Promote LGBTQ+ affirming campus and local community events and resources related to housing insecurity, food insecurity, employment, and wellness.
