Physical therapist assistants (PTAs) are licensed health care providers who provide physical therapy services under the supervision of a physical therapist. Physical therapist assistants treat patients with movement, strength, and coordination disorders in order to improve function, decrease pain, and increase independence. 

Information Meetings

Start your journey to a Physical Therapist Assistant degree by attending an information meeting. The information meeting for the 2026-2027 school year will be conducted via Zoom meeting.

Request to Attend

Prospective students need to fill out the Request to Attend an Informational Meeting to get an access code for the meeting. Please complete the form by 5:00 pm one day prior to the meeting in order to receive an email with the access code for the meeting.

Students will learn about:

  • program prerequisites
  • the enrollment process
  • required academic and clinical coursework
  • the licensing process
  • the employment outlook for PTAs

PTA Mission Statement

To help meet the health care needs of the community the Physical Therapist Assistant Program at Sacramento City College provides a comprehensive educational program that prepares a diverse student population for practice as licensed physical therapist assistants.

Advisory Committee

The advisory committee for the program consists of members representing the academic and clinical community, members of the general public, and student representatives. The advisory committee meets once per semester.
