Russ Solomon portraitExplore the Russ Solomon Gallery

Located on the second floor of the Student Services building, the Russ Solomon Gallery is named in honor of Tower Records founder and Sacramento City College alumnus. In addition to being a renowned businessman, Solomon was a passionate photography student at SCC, and he helped facilitate funds for a perpetual scholarship that benefits students to this day.

The gallery opened in 2015 with a collection of portraits taken by Solomon in our studio, featuring notable figures from the Sacramento community. Since then, it has become a vibrant space, showcasing works from current and former SCC students.

SCC is proud to commemorate the gallery and honor Solomon Russ, who was once a Sacramento City College student himself. Since its opening, the gallery has proudly hosted a variety of photography exhibits featuring work from both current and former SCC students, highlighting the incredible talent within our community.

The gallery is open to the public whenever the Student Services building is open, and we host special opening events when new work is displayed. Come by and experience the creativity of our community!
