In partnership with the California Office of Traffic Safety and the Yolo County District Attorney's office, the SCC Administration of Justice Department is pleased to host this Public Criminal Trial Event on the SCC main campus.

This event aims to educate students about the dangers and real-life legal consequences of driving under the influence, allow them to witness how the criminal justice system operates in a live public setting, and inspire them to pursue careers in the criminal justice system.

  • This Public Trial involves a charge of “Driving Under the Influence” (DUI) and involves drugs and Alcohol.
  • The defendant has fully agreed to participate in this proceeding and is part of an agreement between the defendant, the District Attorney’s office, and the Public Defender’s office.
  • This trial is being presented in a forum and format outside of the Yolo County courthouse strictly as an educational program for the student's benefit.
  • The defendant has agreed to the outcome of this trial.
